The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Silker there.
Maverick defending well as Silker loads up on a big left hand.
Maverick fails with a takedown attempt.
Silker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maverick.
Maverick drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Silker defends it well.
Maverick gets the takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Maverick are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maverick throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Silker works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
