Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between josh mccabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that john johnston was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mccabe forces johnston back against the cage and clinches.
mccabe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
mccabe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
johnston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but mccabe moves away.
mccabe connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
mccabe tries to close the distance and clinch but johnston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
johnston fails with a takedown attempt.
mccabe closes the distance and clinches.
johnston throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but mccabe blocks it with crossed arms.

mccabe wants to get up but he can't break johnston's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

johnston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so mccabe is just riding it out for now. johnston eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
johnston wants to stand but mccabe has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
mccabe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes johnston off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
mccabe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
johnston is trying to buck mccabe off.
mccabe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. johnston knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
johnston is looking to work his way out of this bad position but mccabe is controlling him well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
