The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Garcia on his heels. He'll look to pass Garcia's guard now, I'm sure.
Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rodriguez manages to get himself to full guard.

Rodriguez wants to get back to his feet but Garcia is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Garcia stands up over Rodriguez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Garcia controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Garcia wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodriguez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rodriguez is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
