Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Ovaska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Kocur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ovaska comes to the cage accompanied by Big Balls by AC/DC. Joey Kocur has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimo Ovaska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Kocur! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kocur misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kocur throws a hook but Ovaska avoids it easily. A little feinted left hand from Ovaska on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. We've been informed that Kocur has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ovaska throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ovaska throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kocur stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Ovaska smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Joey Kocur has been cut. Kocur chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kocur darts in and clinches Ovaska up against the cage. Kocur managing to block the knees to the body from Ovaska.

Ovaska swings wildly with an uppercut but Kocur uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kocur prevents Ovaska from breaking the clinch. Kocur lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kocur lands a body shot. Ovaska on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kocur working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kocur blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kocur with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Ovaska gets through Kocur's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Ovaska breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kocur scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ovaska ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kocur moves away. Kocur throws the left hand but Ovaska avoids the punch easily. Ovaska lands with an overhand left. A nice leg kick lands there from Kocur. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ovaska steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kocur. An attempted straight right counter from Ovaska misses the target. Kocur takes one to the chin there. Kocur throws out a token jab with nothing on it. As Kocur backs away, Ovaska returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Ovaska is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ovaska, right into the meat.

Kocur lands a head kick. Ovaska smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Kocur misses with a low kick. Kocur throws a nice outside leg kick. Nice defenses there by Kocur. Ovaska works Kocur's body with a nice hook. A jab lands there for Kocur. Ovaska fails to land with a series of punches.

Ovaska throws a lazy body kick and Kocur counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ovaska's knee momentarily. Kocur is looking to slow Ovaska down with leg kicks. Ovaska lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kocur at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Kocur. Kocur throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ovaska. Ovaska throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kocur steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Ovaska looks to land a right hand but Kocur moved out of range. Kocur throws the kick towards the body but Ovaska avoids it. Ovaska throwing a counter right hand but Kocur manages to avoid it. Kocur misses with an attempted mid kick.

A nice leg kick lands there from Ovaska. Kocur connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kocur throws a body punch but Ovaska moves out of range. Kocur throws a front kick aimed at Ovaska's knee but Ovaska avoids it well. Ovaska scores with the left hand. Kocur knows he should have avoided that one. Ovaska chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kocur can pounce on him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovaska connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kocur lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kocur bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kocur lands with a good body shot. Nice straight punches there by Ovaska. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ovaska. Kocur tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kocur misses with a left hand letting Ovaska counter with a right hand. We've been told by Ovaska's head coaches at LOD: Contenders that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ovaska is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Ovaska ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Ovaska throws a right hand that misses
letting Kocur counter with a right hand. Ovaska scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A slapping body kick lands there for Kocur. Kocur misses with an uppercut. Ovaska is looking to counter punch. Nice body kick from Kocur. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Joey Kocur will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Joey Kocur's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kocur looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Ovaska lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kocur cracks Ovaska with a right hand to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Kocur moves out of range as Ovaska throws a body kick.

Ovaska misses with a wild body shot. Kocur flicks out a counter leg kick but Ovaska steps away. Ovaska plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kocur tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ovaska manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ovaska was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Kocur gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kocur works on Ovaska's body with a couple of short punches. Ovaska misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kocur.

Ovaska connects with a right hand. Kocur shakes it off. Kocur keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ovaska.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kocur cracks Ovaska with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ovaska uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kocur.
Ovaska misses the shot to the body. Kimo Ovaska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ovaska buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slow jab from Ovaska misses its intended target. Kocur lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ovaska's sensitive parts. Kocur moves out of range of the strikes. Kocur scores with a head kick. Ovaska tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Kocur on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ovaska. Ovaska obviously looking to wear him down.
Ovaska is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kocur bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ovaska's head.
Ovaska is rocked! A solid body kick from Kocur. Ovaska blocks a low kick nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kocur fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kocur with a nice cross. Kocur cracks Ovaska with a hook to the temple - Ovaska is on wobbly legs here! Kocur swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Ovaska falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kocur wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Joey Kocur! A relieved looking Joey Kocur thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
