Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ze Minotauro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minotauro comes to the cage accompanied by Buckethead - jump man. Maxwell has chosen Sonne - Rammstein as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
48 - 36 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ze Minotauro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross Maxwell! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maxwell connects with an inside leg kick. Maxwell needs to keep his hands up - Minotauro had a free shot at his head there.
It looks like Ross Maxwell has been cut. Minotauro swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Maxwell wants to counter the offense by Minotauro and move into the clinch position. Maxwell lands with a kick to the ribs.
Minotauro thows a left - swing and a miss! Minotauro throws a right hand that misses
and Maxwell counters with a flying knee. Nice. Minotauro lands a nice hook to Maxwell's body. Maxwell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Maxwell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Minotauro at a distance.
Minotauro throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maxwell shoots in for a takedown but Minotauro shows good takedown defense. Donk. Minotauro catches Maxwell right on the button with a cross. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Minotauro tries to work over Maxwell's front leg with a kick but Maxwell checks it. Ze Minotauro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maxwell throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Ze Minotauro has been cut. Maxwell avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Despite the aggression on Maxwell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Maxwell throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Minotauro tumbling to the canvas! Maxwell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Minotauro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Maxwell is in close to Minotauro's body, working some short punches and elbows. Maxwell lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maxwell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Maxwell throwing strikes but missing. Maxwell lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maxwell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. It looks like Maxwell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Maxwell slips nicely into half guard. Maxwell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Maxwell is controlling the pace.
Minotauro is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maxwell scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, if Maxwell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Maxwell lands a nice short elbow. Maxwell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Maxwell is looking for a kimura here.
Maxwell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maxwell winds up and cracks Minotauro with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Maxwell prevents Minotauro from improving his position. Maxwell wants to pass the guard but Minotauro is defending well. Minotauro on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Minotauro is looking for a sweep. Maxwell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maxwell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Maxwell drops an elbow to the side of Minotauro's head. Minotauro is trying to maintain the position but Maxwell is very close to passing his half guard. Maxwell working the head and body with strikes. Maxwell scoring with strikes to the body and head. Minotauro is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maxwell scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Maxwell dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Maxwell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Oh, that's a big right hand from Maxwell and Minotauro goes tumbling to the canvas! Maxwell follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Minotauro is rocked! Maxwell not doing much here.
Oh Minotauro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Maxwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Minotauro keeps working. Minotauro seems to have got his legs back now. Maxwell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ross Maxwell has got the better of the ground game so far. The fighters are battling for position here. Minotauro manages to regain full guard. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Minotauro avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maxwell is working Minotauro over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Maxwell trying to control but Minotauro is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maxwell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Minotauro keeping moving, preventing Maxwell from controlling successfully. Minotauro is trying to keep Maxwell in close.
Maxwell trying to control the position from guard on top but Minotauro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maxwell looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Maxwell sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Minotauro to the ground! Maxwell dives into full mount looking to finish! Maxwell is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Minotauro goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Maxwell!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ross Maxwell! A very excited looking Ross Maxwell made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
