The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jaysimpson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Uematsu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Homer Jaysimpson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Uematsu enables Jaysimpson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Uematsu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Uematsu is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jaysimpson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Uematsu leaves Jaysimpson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Uematsu lands a really nice looking cross but Jaysimpson seems unphased.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Uematsu. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jaysimpson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Uematsu sneaks out the side door and pushes Jaysimpson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Jaysimpson seems to have got his legs back now.

Jaysimpson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nice straight punches there by Uematsu. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Uematsu.

Hironobu Uematsu seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jaysimpson walks straight into a right hand from Uematsu - that's dropped him! Uematsu jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jaysimpson from any more punishment! Jaysimpson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
