Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Baldur Draupnir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Vladyslav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Baldur Draupnir has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Baldur Draupnir seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draupnir takes the fight into the clinch.
Draupnir controlling the action here for a moment.
Draupnir pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Draupnir lands with a nice body kick.
Draupnir throws the kick towards the body but Volkov avoids it.
Draupnir scoring well with a low kick there.
Volkov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Volkov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A slapping body kick lands there for Draupnir.
Volkov throws a right hand that Draupnir ducks under and follows up with a left that Draupnir also avoids with ease.

I was talking to Draupnir's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Draupnir will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Volkov up against the cage.

Draupnir seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Volkov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Draupnir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Draupnir throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Draupnir connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Volkov moves in looking to clinch but Draupnir pushes him off.
Draupnir wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Draupnir buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Volkov throws a combination. Draupnir tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Baldur Draupnir has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Draupnir moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Volkov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Draupnir throws a head kick that Volkov semi-blocks.
Draupnir lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Draupnir has managed to clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Volkov.
Draupnir slows down the pace here.
Volkov wants to break the clinch but can't.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Draupnir takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Baldur Draupnir dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Volkov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Baldur Draupnir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Volkov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Draupnir can pounce on him.
Draupnir lands a nice leg kick that just misses Volkov's sensitive parts.
Draupnir fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Volkov checks it well.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Draupnir lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Volkov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Volkov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Volkov takes a shot to the head.
Draupnir breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Draupnir throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Volkov is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
