Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cortez Deleon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Freed!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freed darts in and clinches Deleon up against the cage.
Deleon just leaning against Freed, taking a breather.
Freed swings wildly with an uppercut but Deleon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Freed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Freed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A combination from Freed does no damage.
Freed tries to clinch
and Deleon counters with a left and a right that stings Freed.
Freed scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Deleon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Freed pinned against the cage. Freed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Freed tries to clinch but Deleon moves out of range.
It looked like Deleon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Deleon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Deleon appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Deleon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freed defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Freed displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Cortez Deleon has been cut.
Freed tries to clinch but Deleon is having none of it.
Freed tries to clinch but Deleon moves out of range.
Freed shoots in and gets a takedown into Deleon's guard.
Deleon wriggles free and stands up.
Deleon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Deleon keeps the fight on the outside.
Deleon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deleon pulls Freed in close to prevent any damage.
Deleon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Freed looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Deleon is pulling down on Freed's head. It's preventing any offense from Freed, at least for the moment.
Deleon is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Freed rolls with it to try and escape but Deleon cranks on the arm and Freed is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
