Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlie Phelps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Phelps looking to hit a scissor sweep but jackson is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Phelps can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as jackson controls the pace.
Phelps is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Phelps shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
so jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phelps throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! jackson escapes and throws Phelps's legs to the side, diving into side control!
jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Phelps. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Phelps to his feet.
jackson clinches up with Phelps and pushes him back against the cage.
Phelps tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. jackson smiles and moves away.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phelps sprawls well initially but jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Phelps slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

jackson is just content to waste time from the top position. Phelps takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Phelps is looking for a triangle but jackson pushes his legs off easily.
Phelps is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but jackson frees his head nicely. Oh but Phelps has switched to an armbar! jackson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
