Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Carrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tristan McPeak!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McPeak looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Carrillo is looking to improve his position.

Carrillo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
McPeak is looking to stall here but Carrillo recovers full guard.

McPeak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carrillo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McPeak has managed to get both his arms back between Carrillo's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McPeak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
McPeak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McPeak shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carrillo is trying to defend but McPeak finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McPeak missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

McPeak stands up from half guard.

Carrillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Carrillo wants to sweep here but McPeak controlling him for the moment.

Carrillo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McPeak decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carrillo, up you get!

McPeak is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carrillo's half guard.
Carrillo tries to roll over but McPeak keeps him under control.
Carrillo won't allow McPeak to pass to mount.
McPeak missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
McPeak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carrillo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McPeak wants to take a breather but Carrillo is having none of it.
Carrillo is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McPeak trying to control the pace.
Carrillo tries to get to full guard but McPeak has control of the leg.
Carrillo tries to kick McPeak off but McPeak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McPeak closes the distance and clinches.

Carrillo manages to break the clinch.

Carrillo gets caught napping as McPeak dives in and scores a takedown. Carrillo manages to retain guard.

Carrillo kicks McPeak off and gets to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McPeak dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

McPeak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McPeak lands in his opponent's guard.
Carrillo is breathing heavily.
Carrillo trying to keep a closed guard but McPeak is proving a slippery customer.
Carrillo is really struggling to control McPeak but he's trying to hold on to the position.
McPeak trying to control but Carrillo is working from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carrillo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McPeak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Carrillo is tightening it up a little... McPeak has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McPeak reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McPeak taps out! Nice BJJ there by Carrillo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Angelo Carrillo!
In defeat, Tristan McPeak stepped up to the mic, saying 'I will rise like a phoenix'.
