Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Victor Selassie!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Selassie misses with a looping left.
Hunt darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hunt tests Selassie's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Hunt has managed to clinch.
Hunt lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Selassie lands an uppercut.

Selassie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Selassie throws a solid leg kick but Hunt takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Selassie.
Selassie swings for the body but Hunt moves out of range.
Hunt misses with a looping left.
Hunt lands a nice shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Hunt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A shot to the liver by Hunt. Beautiful body shot.
Selassie misses with a straight left.
Selassie tries to move into range but Hunt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Victor Selassie has been cut.

Hunt tries to keep at a distance but Selassie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hunt blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Selassie can't break the clinch.
Selassie throws an elbow but it misses.
Selassie is trying to break the clinch but Hunt has him pressed against the cage.
Hunt lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Selassie backwards.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Selassie.
Selassie gets through Hunt's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Selassie lands a body punch in the clinch.
Selassie blocking some punches.
Hunt blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Hunt goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Selassie misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hunt keeps control of Selassie as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hunt lands a left hand that snaps the head of Selassie backwards.
Hunt managing to block the knees to the body from Selassie.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hunt creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hunt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Selassie is trying to break the clinch but Hunt has him pressed against the cage.
Hunt swings wildly with an uppercut but Selassie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hunt lands a hook that snaps the head of Selassie backwards.
Selassie has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Hunt seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Selassie can turn it around.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt keeps control of Selassie as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hunt lands with a light punch inside.
A left hand lands to the body for Hunt.

Hunt has clasped his hands together around Selassie's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Selassie, who protects the arm well.
Selassie tries to buck Hunt off but Hunt is having none of it.
Hunt remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hunt in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Selassie is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Hunt!
Paul Hunt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
