0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Sutton! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Sutton. Sutton has Ryan up against the cage in a clinch.
Ryan really is a fat lump. Ryan stalling.
Sutton has Ryan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ryan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Sutton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sutton successfully pulls guard.
Sutton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Ryan throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sutton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sutton throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Sutton trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Ryan connects with a couple of short punches. Ryan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sutton throws a big elbow that misses. Ryan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sutton tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Sutton keeps control of the position for the meantime. Sutton tries to roll over but Ryan keeps him under control. Sutton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ryan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ryan's back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sutton trying to control. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Sutton struggling to land strikes to the head as Ryan covers up. Sutton misses with punches from the back. Sutton is persistently looking for the submission but Ryan is defending it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sutton misses with punches from the back. Sutton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Sutton is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ryan has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Ryan can't escape the position.

Sutton shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ryan. Horrible takedown attempt by Ryan or perhaps it was just good defense by Sutton, which made it look bad. Ryan leaves Sutton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sutton fails to land with a series of punches.

Sutton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sutton fails with a takedown attempt. Sutton is breathing heavily. Ryan throws the left hand but Sutton avoids the punch easily. Sutton throws a fast counter high kick but Ryan manages to duck under it in time. Sutton shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sutton smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Ryan throws a right and a left that Sutton avoids nicely. Sutton keeps the fight on the outside. Sutton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sutton dives in for a single leg takedown but Ryan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Ryan is looking to counter with a shot to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ryan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sutton defends well and Ryan ends up having to push Sutton into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sutton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ryan circles away. Sutton keeps the fight on the outside. Sutton feints the counter takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sutton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sutton gets a clinch. Sutton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ryan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Sutton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Sutton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ryan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryan pulls guard effortlessly. Ryan keeping full guard, as Sutton tries to pass. Sutton showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Sutton trying to control but Ryan is working from the bottom.

Sutton trying to control the position from guard on top but Ryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sutton is taking a break and basically stalling. Ryan looks to land a combination but Sutton avoids it well. Sutton drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ryan defends it well. Sutton dives in for a single leg takedown but Ryan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Sutton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ryan throws a big counter combination but Sutton scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Sutton has closed the distance and engaged Ryan in a clinch.
Sutton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ryan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The referee calls for Ryan to work.
Sutton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A bit of stalling here from Ryan.
