Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Fynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Scarpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregory Scarpa acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Fynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregory Scarpa!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Donatello Bradman and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarpa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Scarpa looks to land a right hand but Fynn moved out of range.
Scarpa tries to land a front kick but Fynn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Scarpa checks a low kick from Fynn.
Fynn slips under a jab.
Scarpa slips a jab from Fynn.

Fynn rushes Scarpa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Scarpa is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fynn can't fight it off and eventually Scarpa manages to take the fight to the floor. Fynn looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fynn manages to break the clinch.
Scarpa dives in and grabs Fynn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fynn pushes down on Scarpa's head and hops out.
Scarpa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Bob Fynn has been cut.
Scarpa shoots in but Fynn avoids the takedown attempt easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Scarpa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fynn appears to be looking for a big counter.
Fynn throws a hook but Scarpa avoids it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Scarpa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fynn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fynn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
As Scarpa looks to move away, Fynn throws a big counter combo but Scarpa just gets out of the way.
Fynn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scarpa can do to turn this around?

Fynn bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fynn cracks Scarpa with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Scarpa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Scarpa there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fynn connects with a body shot that sends Scarpa's belly button to the back.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fynn enables Scarpa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fynn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

I was talking to Fynn's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scarpa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fynn pulls his leg out and moves away.
Scarpa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fynn finds it's way round the side to connect with Scarpa's head.

Fynn scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Fynn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Scarpa. That did some damage!

Scarpa moves forwards but Fynn connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Scarpa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Scarpa tries for a takedown but Fynn circles away easily
and Fynn counters with a straight right hand.
Scarpa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fynn's waist but Fynn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scarpa off to one side.
A little feinted left hand from Fynn on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Scarpa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fynn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Scarpa's head.
Fynn leaves Scarpa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fynn moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scarpa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fynn to score with a decent uppercut.

Scarpa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fynn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
