Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tom Odonnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jordan Dake !
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dake closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Odonnell to the mat! Odonnell manages to get full guard.
Dake wants to get up but he can't break Odonnell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dake 's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dake would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dake wants to control from the top but Odonnell keeps moving.
Dake controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dake 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dake avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dake not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
It looks like Dake might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dake closes the distance and clinches.
Odonnell tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Dake makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Odonnell tries to land a knee to the head but Dake blocks with his arms.

Dake has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Odonnell is trying to keep an underhook but Dake manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Odonnell scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Dake manages to mount him!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Odonnell can't escape the position.
Dake lands a couple of good shots and Odonnell has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
A lull in the action here.

Odonnell won't enjoy being in this position. Dake looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Odonnell is tapping - it's over boys! Dake picks up the submission victory!
