Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Spencer Greer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Royal! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Royal clinches up with Greer and pushes him back against the cage. Royal decides to pull guard. Greer being controlled here momentarily. Greer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Royal is on top in guard.
Royal throwing strikes from guard but Greer blocks nicely. Royal showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Royal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Greer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Royal advances position into side control! Royal misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Royal works to advance to full mount. Greer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Royal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Royal controlling the pace for now. Royal is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Royal sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Royal lands a big shot there that rocks Greer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Royal controlling his opponent. Greer is looking to get to half guard. Royal sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Greer wants to control but Royal is having none of it. Royal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Greer's face.
It looks like Spencer Greer has been cut. Royal looking for a guillotine from mount but Greer is having none of it. Greer tries to control the position but Royal now has his back.
Greer is trying to defend against the choke here but Royal has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Royal Tightens the hold and Greer taps out furiously! Royal displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
