Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kopp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kopp has chosen Fivefold – Step Back as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Maximus Meridius had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maximus Meridius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Kopp! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kopp has a takedown stuffed. Kopp closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meridius circles away. Meridius throws a jab when Kopp was well out of range. Meridius keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Maximus Meridius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kopp. The fighters circling - Meridius throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kopp shoots in for a double leg but Meridius sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Meridius tries to counter with a takedown but Kopp is quick to defend against it. Meridius gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kopp drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kopp jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kopp stopping the sweep attempt from Meridius. Meridius is trying to keep Kopp in close.
Meridius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Meridius had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kopp defends it easily. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kopp sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Meridius's guard. Kopp is looking to take a break and control but Meridius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Meridius wants to get back to full guard. Meridius is working hard here to advance position. Kopp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meridius doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kopp. Meridius has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kopp is working away from the top position though. Kopp is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Meridius!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kopp with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kopp seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Meridius is holding on tight.
Meridius gets back to half guard. Meridius manages to get to full guard.
Meridius is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kopp throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Meridius's body to avoid the submission. Meridius has instead reached around Kopp's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Meridius arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Maximus Meridius! Maximus Meridius made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Are you entertained? Are you not entertained?!?!?'.
