Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chipped Shoulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Napper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chipped Shoulder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Napper!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoulder will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Napper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shoulder slips nicely into half guard.
Napper is looking to control Shoulder's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Napper avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shoulder is trying to work for a kimura but Napper is defending well.
Shoulder tries to pass the half guard into mount. Napper knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Napper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Napper.

Napper is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shoulderis looking to pass into half guard but Napper pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Napper is in guard.

Napper wanted to stand there but Shoulder had control of the position.
Shoulder is striking from the bottom but Napper uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Shoulder wants to improve his position but Napper is controlling well.

Shoulder looking for submissions off his back.
Shoulder is breathing heavily.
Napper trying to control the action but Shoulder is working from the bottom.
Shoulder makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shoulder.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Napper passes Shoulder's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Shoulder wants to improve his position but Napper is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Napper scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Shoulder is not content to let Napper control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Napper is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Shoulder wants to get back to full guard.
Napper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shoulder does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Shoulder is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Napper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Napper's back!
Napper trying to control the position but Shoulder manages to sink in the hooks.

Napper tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Shoulder throws some wild stikes that Napper manages to avoid easily.
Napper is in all sorts of trouble here.
Shoulder throwing strikes here but Napper is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Napper tries to hold on but Shoulder pushes him away.
Napper tries to reverse the position but Shoulder maintains control.
Shoulder with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Shoulder prevents Napper from getting the reversal.

Shoulder is working for a guillotine from mount but Napper frees his head quite easily.
Napper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Shoulder jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Napper is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Napper and Shoulder has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Shoulder working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shoulder is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Napper knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Napper is trying to improve his position.

Shoulder thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Napper struggling a bit here.
Napper tries to escape but Shoulder is in control.
Napper is looking to regain half guard here but Shoulder keeps moving and retains side control.

Shoulder tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shoulder has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Napper is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chipped Shoulder dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Shoulder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Napper regains half guard.
Napper controlling the position well.

Shoulder is working for a submission of some sort.
Napper has hold of Shoulder's hands but Shoulder slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Napper trying to control but Shoulder postures up.
Napper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Napper.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Napper holds on and takes a little breather.
Napper is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Napper is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shoulder preventing the sweep.
Shoulder tries to free his leg and advance position but Napper is retaining full guard.
Shoulder stands and throws Napper's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Shoulder thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shoulder tries to move to mount but Napper blocks the move with his legs.

Shoulder has an Americana. Napper didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Shoulder is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shoulder hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Chipped Shoulder!
