Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jose Perez and Neil Diaz. Perez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Light It Up. Diaz has chosen 209 Stockton Anthem as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Perez keeps the fight on the outside. Perez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Perez (4) vs (0) Diaz Perez wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy. Diaz is looking to regain half guard here but Perez keeps moving and retains side control. Diaz is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Perez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Perez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Perez's back! Perez prevents Diaz from getting a body triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perez can't escape the position.

Diaz keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully. Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Diaz wants to improve his position but instead Perez has moved into half guard.
Perez stalling away here and it's allowed Diaz to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Perez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
