This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Anatoliy Lapikov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 2 losses; Richard Kuklinski!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Lapikov darts in and clinches Kuklinski up against the cage.
Kuklinski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lapikov walks away with a smile on his face. Kuklinski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kuklinski fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lapikov forces Kuklinski back against the cage and clinches.

Lapikov has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kuklinski clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Will Lapikov go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
I really don't envy Kuklinski right now.

Lapikov has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lapikov is trying to stick to Kuklinski's back but Kuklinski is turning into Lapikov. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lapikov's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kuklinski.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Lapikov (4) vs (2) Kuklinski
Kuklinski tries to free his leg and advance position but Lapikov is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kuklinski wants to control from the top but Lapikov keeps moving.
Kuklinski passes into half guard.
Kuklinski is looking to stall here but Lapikov recovers full guard.
Kuklinski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lapikov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lapikov wants to sweep here but Kuklinski controlling him for the moment.
Kuklinski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lapikov is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lapikov is trying to push Kuklinski off with his feet but Kuklinski grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Lapikov's ankles and Lapikov is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Ankle Lock). Richard Kuklinski!
