Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Alan Fadzaev and Great Cornholio. Cornholio has chosen Cornholio MegaMix as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Alan Fadzaev! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Great Cornholio! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Fadzaev moves into the clinch. Cornholio stops a takedown attempt from Fadzaev.
Cornholio tries to score a body lock takedown but Fadzaev shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Cornholio jumps guard but Fadzaev stands there with Cornholio around his waist. Cornholio gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cornholio jumps guard and drags Fadzaev to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Cornholio seems keen to control Fadzaev's posture. Our spies down at at UHK, Inc. inform us that Cornholio has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Fadzaev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fadzaev slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Fadzaev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cornholio for as long as he can get away with. Cornholio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fadzaev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fadzaev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
