Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shunsui Kyoraku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shunsui Kyoraku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeremy Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyoraku buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sullivan blocks a leg kick.
Sullivan shoots in but no luck this time.
Kyoraku misses with a head kick.
Sullivan wants to counter the offense by Kyoraku and move into the clinch position.

Kyoraku fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sullivan, pushing him back against the cage.
Kyoraku just leaning against Sullivan, taking a breather.
Kyoraku is looking to control Sullivan's arms but Sullivan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kyoraku has his back to the cage.

Sullivan jumps guard and drags Kyoraku to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Sullivan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sullivan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kyoraku defends it easily.
Kyoraku is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Outer Heaven Dojo that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sullivan is looking to sweep but instead, Kyoraku has passed into half guard.

Sullivan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kyoraku pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sullivan connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Kyoraku to escape the position.
The referee is taking a good look at Kyoraku as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Sullivan!
Sullivan lands strikes to the head.
Kyoraku is covering up but some of the strikes from Sullivan are getting through and doing damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kyoraku tries to roll but Sullivan sticks to his back.
Kyoraku manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sullivan's guard. Nice work there by Kyoraku.

Kyoraku got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sullivan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kyoraku has managed to get both his arms back between Sullivan's legs - danger averted.
Kyoraku controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kyoraku advances to half guard.
Sullivan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kyoraku would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kyoraku won't allow Sullivan to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kyoraku dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sullivan. That did some damage!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sullivan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Kyoraku tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sullivan's elbow.

Kyoraku gets underhooks to prevent Sullivan's takedown attempt.
Kyoraku swings away with an uppercut that misses.

A nice right hand lands inside from Kyoraku.

Kyoraku has a couple of punches blocked by Sullivan.
Sullivan has Kyoraku pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kyoraku manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Shunsui Kyoraku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Sullivan.
Kyoraku lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sullivan backwards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
