Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Blye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandao comes into the arena with Work Hard, Play Hard blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Brandao! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Blye! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandao throws a sloppy head kick and Blye moves out of range easily. We've been hearing reports that Brandao has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Blye missing with a left hand there. Brandao was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Blye fails to land the takedown. Brandao throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Blye's jab looks to have found its range, popping Brandao under the eye. Brandao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blye manages to avoid it. Blye moves forwards but Brandao connects with a nice, crisp jab. Blye with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blye thuds a left hand into Brandao's body. That kick from Brandao tenderised Blye's leg. Blye is trying to keep his angry face on. Brandao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blye manages to avoid it. Brandao throws a lazy head kick and Blye counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao darts in and clinches Blye up against the cage. Brandao lands a big knee to the head and Blye goes down! Brandao is looking to finish!
Blye is rocked! Blye wants to control but Brandao postures up. Blye is still in real trouble! Can Brandao finish him? Blye is looking to regain half guard here but Brandao keeps moving and retains side control. Brandao staying calm. Blye seems to have recovered his senses. Blye is trying to get back to half guard. Brandao trying to control the action but Blye is working from the bottom. Blye is trying to control Brandao's posture but Brandao avoids it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brandao trying to control the action but Blye is working from the bottom. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blye tries to bench press Brandao off him but Brandao keeps the position. Blye is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Blye is looking to improve his position.
Blye tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Brandao has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Blye tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blye tries to hold on but Brandao pushes him away. Blye is trying desperately to improve position. Brandao controlling from mount. Blye manages to regain half guard. Good work. Blye tries to get to full guard but Brandao has control of the leg. Brandao is thwarting Blye's attempts to control the position. Brandao perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Brandao dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Brandao is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blye can do to turn this around? Brandao cracks Blye with an open hand slap. Brandao scores with a jab. That's one minute gone in the round. Blye takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Blye lands with a punch from half guard. Blye winds up and cracks Brandao with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Brandao wants to get back to full guard. Blye scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Blye not landing any meaningful shots this time. Blye working the head and body with strikes. Brandao wants to control but Blye is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blye throws a strike but Brandao avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Blye works over Brandao with some ground and pound from guard. Blye with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Blye has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Blye is working Brandao over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Blye stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Brandao has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Blye manages to get his head free but now Brandao has transitioned to an armbar! Blye grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Brandao! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jose Brandao! Jose Brandao decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
