Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Letang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Jackson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pierre Letang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Letang! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Jackson misses. Jackson misses with a double jab
and Letang counters by clinching up. Letang lands with a left to the head. Letang throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jacksons head. Jackson has had enough of the clinch but Letang keeps him there for the moment. Jackson gets underhooks to prevent Letang's takedown attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Letang has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Letang has Jackson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Letang pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jackson tumbling to the mat - Letang dives into Jackson's guard. Letang trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Letang is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Letang landing some decent shots from guard. Letang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Letang connects with a couple of short punches. Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Letang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jackson is trying to hold Letang in close to prevent damage but Letang has managed to pass into half guard.
Letang is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jackson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
