1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Evans! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ayala manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Evans on his heels. He'll look to pass Evans's guard now, I'm sure. Ayala showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ayala wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving. Evans keeping full guard, as Ayala tries to pass. Evans managing to control the position. Ayala wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans tries to land a sweep but no joy. Evans looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ayala could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Evans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Evans tries to pass to full mount but Ayala defends it. Ayala is positioning himself well to prevent Evans advancing to mount. Evans is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Evans is trying to control the action in half guard but Ayala is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Evans is thwarting Ayala's attempts to control the position. Evans is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Evans looking to control but Ayala is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Evans landing strikes from the mount and Ayala is in trouble! Ayala knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evans on the ground. Ayala looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ayala is trying to get back to his feet but Evans has full control of the position and if anything, Ayala has just worked his way into a worse spot. Evans struggling to keep hold of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ayala trying to get back to his feet but Evans is in full control for now. Evans has his arm under Ayala's chin here. Game over son! Evans squeezes tightly and Ayala is forced to tap out!
