Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tidwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lytle comes into the arena with Light's Out blaring out of the sound system. Tidwell is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Papercut. Christopher Lytle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Tidwell! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lytle closes the distance and clinches up with Tidwell, looking for a takedown. Lytle pushes Tidwell against the cage but Tidwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lytle scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Lytle trying to control the position but Tidwell is working away. Lytle decides to stand back up. Tidwell looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lytle working a defensive guard here.
Tidwell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lytle is keeping the position for now. Tidwell throwing strikes but missing. Lytle working for submissions but it's allowed Tidwell to get to half guard.

Lytle is trying to maintain the position but Tidwell is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lytle regains full guard. Nicely done. Lytle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lytle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tidwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lytle has his foot on Tidwell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tidwell works his way back into a safe position though. Lytle is breathing heavily. Lytle keeping moving, preventing Tidwell from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lytle keeping full guard, as Tidwell tries to pass. Tidwell advances position into side control! Lytle manages to get back to half guard. Lytle is trying to get back to full guard. Tidwell is pressing down on Lytle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lytle is holding on for now. Lytle moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tidwell is nestled in close to Lytle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lytle trying to control but Tidwell postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lytle manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Lytle keeping moving, preventing Tidwell from controlling successfully. Lytle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lytle takes Tidwell's back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lytle is trying to stick to Tidwell's back but Tidwell is turning into Lytle. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lytle's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Tidwell. Lytle wants to sweep here but Tidwell controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tidwell is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lytle keeping moving, preventing Tidwell from controlling successfully. Lytle trying to keep a closed guard but Tidwell is proving a slippery customer.

That was a close round but I would say that Christopher Lytle will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lytle shoots and misses and Tidwell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lytle! Lytle tries to reverse the position but Tidwell maintains control. Tidwell landing strikes, looking to finish! Tidwell throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Lytle has his hands clasped together but Tidwell breaks the hold and Lytle is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Tidwell!
