Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Saenpong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomon Blackstone! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saenpong scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Saenpong is looking to score with low kicks. Saenpong throws a leg kick that is checked so Blackstone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Blackstone working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Saenpong's head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blackstone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Blackstone wants to control from the top but Saenpong keeps moving. Saenpong is looking to stand up but Blackstone isn't so interested in that idea. Blackstone trying to control the position from guard on top but Saenpong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Blackstone fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Saenpong to the ground. Blackstone is now in Saenpong's guard. Saenpong wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Blackstone manages to pass to side control.
Blackstone is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blackstone seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Saenpong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blackstone wants to work for an arm triangle but Saenpong is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Blackstone throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Blackstone missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Blackstone thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Blackstone trying to control the action but Saenpong is working from the bottom. Blackstone is controlling the pace.
Blackstone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Saenpong is just riding it out for now. Blackstone eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blackstone has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Saenpong defend it? Blackstone steps over the head and cranks it - Saenpong is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Blackstone!
