Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bucksaw Anstey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Foster! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Foster shoots in for a takedown but Anstey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Foster looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Foster trying to control the position from guard on top but Anstey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anstey wants to get back to his feet but Foster is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foster wants to control from the top but Anstey keeps moving. Anstey has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Foster off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Foster scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster is looking to stall here but Anstey recovers full guard. Foster prevents Anstey from getting back to his feet. Foster trying to control but Anstey is working from the bottom. Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anstey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard. Anstey wanted to stand there but Foster had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Anstey decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Foster is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anstey's half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foster wants to work for an arm triangle but Anstey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Foster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anstey keeps working. Foster seems to be looking for submissions.
Foster is trying to work for a kimura but Anstey is defending well.
Foster is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Foster is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anstey defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Foster looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Foster seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Anstey has recovered full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Foster looking to sit in guard and control but Anstey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bucksaw Anstey dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Anstey gets caught flat footed, as Foster shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bucksaw Anstey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Foster wants to control from the top but Anstey keeps moving. Foster looking to sit in guard and control but Anstey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Foster has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Anstey doesn't defend quickly enough and Foster has managed to lock this one up! Can Anstey escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Foster on a fantastic submission victory.
