Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shannon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Shannon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vasquez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shannon is in Vasquez's guard.
Shannon wants to get up but he can't break Vasquez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Shannon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Vasquez wants to get back to his feet but Shannon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shannon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shannon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Shannon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Shannon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Shannon gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Vasquez scores with a hook.
Vasquez misses the shot to the body.

It looks like Seth Shannon has been cut.

Shannon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Vasquez has managed to clinch.
Vasquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Vasquez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vasquez lands a jab to Shannon's midsection.
Shannon drops his hands momentarily and Vasquez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vasquez. Shannon does a little dance to reset his feet.

Vasquez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Vasquez lands a left hand that snaps the head of Shannon backwards.

Vasquez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Vasquez struggles to land a body shot inside as Shannon controls his hands.
Vasquez blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Shannon blocks a body shot from Vasquez.

Vasquez swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Vasquez lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shannon backwards.
Vasquez lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shannon is rocked!
Vasquez lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Shannon to his knees! Vasquez keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
