Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeus God (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zeus God! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from God. Davis throws a big counter combination but God scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Davis fails to land the takedown. Davis shoots in for a takedown but God shows good takedown defense. Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts God as he jumps to the side. God feints the counter takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis leaves God with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. God darts in looking for a takedown but Davis gets double underhooks and turns God into the cage. Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. God tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag God to the ground. God escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with God but God pushes him off and we're back to square one. Davis closes the distance and clinches up with God, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes God against the cage but God circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has God pinned against the cage. God gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. God closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davis to the mat! Davis manages to get full guard. Davis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. God postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. God throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Davis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. God tries to land a sweep but no joy. God keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. God is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. God has Davis pulled in close to control his posture. God is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. God is continuing to stall. God is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. God bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis trying to keep a closed guard but God is proving a slippery customer.
God stands up over Davis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Davis controls God momentarily but God frees himself. God advances to half guard. My spies in The Iron Palace inform me that God has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. God wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs. God wants to take a breather but Davis is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. God working over Davis with some ground and pound. Davis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. God is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. God is working away from the top position though. God is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. God scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but God scores with a couple of nice shots. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nice strikes from God there. God winds up and cracks Davis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. God sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davis defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zeus God dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
God closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away. Davis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. God shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. God throws a head kick that misses. Nice takedown defense from God. No joy for Davis on that attempt. God with the counter takedown but Davis avoids it easily. Davis doesn't manage to clinch there - God circles away.
And God tries to counter it with a takedown but Davis pushes his down on his head and steps out. Davis fails with the takedown. A head kick misses from God. God rushes Davis and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. God tries for a takedown but Davis manages to get underhooks.
Jack Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zeus God. God drags the fight down to the ground.
Davis won't allow God to sweep him here. God keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis preventing the sweep. Davis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but God is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. God controlling Davis's posture. God has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. God moves into the clinch. Davis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Davis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. God working hard to break the clinch. Davis pulls guard effortlessly. God tries to free his leg and advance position but Davis is retaining full guard. God passes Davis's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Davis is pressing down on God's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Davis looking for a guillotine here but God defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. God manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. God trying to control the position.
Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but God is retaining full guard. God wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. God is working an open guard so Davis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. God avoids the head kick by Davis.
Horrible takedown attempt by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by God, which made it look bad. Zeus God seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. God tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away. God misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! God connects with a high kick. God has Davis up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zeus God showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
God shoots in but no luck this time. God looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch. Davis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by God after a bit of a struggle. Davis comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. God has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Davis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jack Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zeus God. Davis prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. God is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Davis pulls him back up using the underhooks. God is trying to pull guard but Davis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. God has Davis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Davis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Davis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
God takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. God wants to get back to striking at distance but Davis won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knees in the clinch landing for Davis.
Davis pulls guard. Davis wants to get back to his feet but God is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Davis looking for a guillotine here but God defends easily.
Davis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Davis controls God momentarily but God frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. God advances position into side control! God landing a few strikes. Davis dodges the ground and pound from God. God working the body and head with strikes. God is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. God cracks Davis with a big elbow. Davis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to bench press God off him but God keeps the position. God landing strikes. God working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Davis avoids any damage from the ground and pound of God. God stands up. Davis closes the distance and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. God jumps guard but Davis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Davis prevents the takedown attempt.
God drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Davis gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Davis is struggling to control the position. Davis manages to break the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! God shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows God to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jack Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zeus God is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Davis throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Davis. I think God has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
