Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Dzagoev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Mytsyno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mytsyno has chosen Rev Theory - Voices as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dzagoev keeps the fight on the outside. Mytsyno shoots for a takedown but Dzagoev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mytsyno is looking to clinch but Dzagoev is avoiding it.
Mytsyno dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dzagoev. That did some damage! Dzagoev dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dzagoev dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mytsyno shoots for a double leg takedown but Dzagoev sprawls well. He's pushed Mytsyno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mytsyno scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dzagoev in his tracks. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dzagoev lands a glancing blow to the side of Mytsyno's head. Alan Dzagoev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dzagoev waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Mytsyno. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Mytsyno to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dzagoev cracks Mytsyno with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mytsyno shoots in for a takedown but Dzagoev shows good takedown defense. Dzagoev is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Mytsyno throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dzagoev's waist but Dzagoev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mytsyno off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dzagoev lands a with a good body shot. Dzagoev moves into range and clinches up with Mytsyno. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Dzagoev lands with a right to the head. Dzagoev content to slow the pace in the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mytsyno trying to control the position but instead, Dzagoev has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mytsyno into the cage. Mytsyno has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dzagoev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Dzagoev.

Dzagoev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dzagoev wants to stand up but Mytsyno is controlling him. Mytsyno postures up in Dzagoev's guard and throws a big left but Dzagoev blocks it. Mytsyno throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dzagoev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alan Dzagoev will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Dzagoev lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Dzagoev does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mytsyno wants to clinch.

A combination from Dzagoev does no damage. Mytsyno tries to clinch but Dzagoev moves away and Dzagoev cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mytsyno shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dzagoev's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mytsyno wants to control from the top but Dzagoev keeps moving. Dzagoev not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mytsyno walks into a jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Alan Dzagoev showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dzagoev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
