The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shulun avoids the body shot from Cantrell.
Cantrell thumps Shulun with a low kick.
Cantrell wants to clinch.
Shulun tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Shulun misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cantrell.
Shulun doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cantrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cantrell shoots in for a takedown but Shulun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cantrell is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shulun misses with a straight right.
Cantrell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A shot to the body from Shulun misses
enabling Cantrell to counter with a crisp jab.
Cantrell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shulun but Shulun pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little jabbing left from Shulun on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Cantrell fails to land the takedown.

Cantrell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shulun paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shulun swings for the body but Cantrell moves out of range.
Shulun looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shulun fails to land with a series of punches.
Shulun misses with a body punch
and Cantrell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
No joy there for Cantrell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Shulun counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Nice strikes from Shulun there.
Cantrell's coaches at Rabid Dog have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Shulun has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cantrell is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shulun has control of Cantrell's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cantrell regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Shulun content just to control the position here.
Shulun pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Shulun postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cantrell looks a forlorn figure.

Shulun keeps control of the position easily here as Cantrell tries to buck him off.
Shulun is punishing Cantrell with some ground and pound.

Shulun is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Cantrell with him. Cantrell is trying to defend but Shulun has an arm under the chin now! Cantrell grimaces and is forced to tap out!
