Fish tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Semerkhet wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Well,Fish is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes?
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Semerkhet is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fish is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fish is looking for a sweep. Fish is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Iron Palace, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Semerkhet trying to control the position but Fish is working away. He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Fish has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Fish! And that's the end of the fight! Semerkhet wins on points by 12 to 10. After the fight, Malakai Semerkhet was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. Jon Paul Fish was interviewed post fight and said 'Clearly, I've got some things to work on.
