Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Chip Freedom and Brij Khali. Freedom comes to the cage accompanied by Star Spangled Banner. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Chip Freedom! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 3 losses; Brij Khali! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Freedom gets in close and instigates a clinch. Freedom has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Khali uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khali stopping the sweep attempt from Freedom. Freedom wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Freedom wants to sweep here but Khali controlling him for the moment. Freedom is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Freedom wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freedom looking to control.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freedom slows the pace down in half guard.

Freedom wants to control but Khali is keeping him busy. Khali is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Freedom tries to pass to full mount but Khali defends it. Khali is looking for a sweep. Freedom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Freedom is taking a breather. Khali says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freedom trying to control the action but Khali is working from the bottom. Freedom is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Khali defends it well. Freedom is looking to advance position but Khali won't allow it. Freedom is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Freedom is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Khali as he works his way to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freedom pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Khali is keeping the position for now. Freedom works a leg free and moves into half guard. Freedom is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Khali defends it well. Freedom working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Khali's thigh. Khali counters though and makes it back to full guard. Khali seems keen to control Freedom's posture.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Freedom trying to control but Khali is working from the bottom. Freedom is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Khali is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Khali has escaped and now he's on top! That's six minutes gone in the round. Khali won't allow Freedom to sweep him here. Khali stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Freedom swivels though and keeps the full guard. Freedom looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Freedom looking for a sweep. Not yet Freedom, not yet.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Freedom has Khali pulled in close to control his posture. Khali controls from within his opponent's guard. Khali preventing the sweep. Khali stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Freedom swivels though and keeps the full guard. Freedom looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Khali not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Freedom controls Khali momentarily but Khali frees himself.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Freedom is really struggling to control Khali but he's trying to hold on to the position. Khali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Khali trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Khali postures up.
Freedom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Freedom not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Khali won't allow Freedom to sweep him here. Freedom is working hard here to advance position. Freedom had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Khali defends it easily. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Freedom holds on and takes a little breather. Freedom looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khali is one step ahead there.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Freedom working a defensive guard but Khali manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Khali controls the position. Freedom tries to roll but Khali sticks to his back.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Khali controlling the position well here. Freedom rolled but Khali kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

I really don't envy Freedom right now.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. A bit of a pause in the action here. Khali controlling the positon. Khali is hanging on to Freedom's back as he tries to escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Freedom looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Khali wins on points by 8 to 2. Brij Khali made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Glad I Won'. |
