Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Trout! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darren Ledford! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ledford avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Trout throws a jab when Ledford was well out of range. Ledford has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ledford has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Trout clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Will Ledford go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Ledford missing with strikes from the back. Ledford looking for the choke but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Trout's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ledford keeps control of the position as Trout tries to break free.
What can Trout do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Ledford is striking well from the back but Trout escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Ledford is nestled in close to Trout, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ledford has hold of Trout's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Trout manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Trout is trying desperately to improve position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ledford working his ground and pound in the gym. Trout taking shots to the head. Ledford throws some wild stikes that Trout manages to avoid easily.
Trout is trying to escape the mount.
Ledford can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Trout is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ledford with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ledford trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ledford lands a couple of good shots and Trout has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Trout is rocked! Ledford is landing big shots and Trout is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!
