Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burke comes to the cage accompanied by Let it Rock. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Burke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Mitchell! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitchell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mitchell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Burke throws a lazy right hand but Mitchell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Burke throws a series of punches but Mitchell avoids them all with ease. Burke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burke fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like James Mitchell has been cut. Mitchell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burke is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mitchell is working Burke over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Burke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mitchell manages to get himself to full guard.
Mitchell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burke is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Burke is looking to work some ground and pound but Mitchell has wrist control. Mitchell wants to sweep but no luck. Burke with a flurry of punches that miss. Burke throwing strikes but missing. Burke loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitchell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burke manages to get himself to full guard.

Burke preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Burke wants to sweep here but Mitchell controlling him for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A shot to the body from Mitchell misses and Burke counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Mitchell!
Mitchell is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burke lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Mitchell! More strikes land and this one is all over! Burke jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Burke!
