PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lonje Moco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Din Aleshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moco has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 35 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lonje Moco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Din Aleshi! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moco fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aleshi, pushing him back against the cage. Moco is breathing heavily. Moco has Aleshi pressed against the cage, preventing Aleshi from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Aleshi lands with a light punch inside. Aleshi struggles to land a body shot inside as Moco controls his hands.
Moco has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aleshi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Aleshi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Aleshi is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Moco is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Aleshi is defending well for now. Aleshi manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aleshi throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Moco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Aleshi throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Aleshi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Aleshi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Moco in his tracks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aleshi lands a nice looking kick to the body. Moco takes a step back to recover. Aleshi darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Aleshi, right into the meat.
Aleshi drops Moco with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Moco looks back up at him and smiles so Aleshi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Moco is rocked! Moco drops his hands momentarily. Aleshi doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Moco staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Moco doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Din Aleshi! During a confident post fight interview, Din Aleshi thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
