The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kriel wants to control but Spencer is keeping him busy.
Spencer tries to buck Kriel off but Kriel is having none of it.
Kriel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Spencer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kriel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kriel is trying to get an arm triangle but Spencer is defending well.
Kriel is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Spencer looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kriel gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Spencer is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kriel lets go of the hold and Spencer can pop his arm back in it's socket.
