Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 13 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Artur Pinezka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Troy Finch! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinezka scores with a jab to the body. Pinezka listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like Troy Finch has been cut. Finch moves out of range as Pinezka strikes. Pinezka misses with an uppercut. Finch avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pinezka connects with a body shot that sends Finch's belly button to the back. A shot to the body from Pinezka misses and Finch counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Finch. Finch has Pinezka pushed against the cage. Finch ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Finch no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Finch has his foot on Pinezka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pinezka works his way back into a safe position though. Finch wants to sweep but no luck. Finch is looking for a triangle but Pinezka pushes his legs off easily.
Pinezka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Finch on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch controlling Pinezka's posture. The fighters are working up against the cage. Finch manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Finch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Finch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fighters circling - Pinezka throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pinezka throws a looping overhand right but Finch ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pinezka jabbing away but nothing is landing. Finch slips under a jab from Pinezka. A big left from Pinezka misses. Pinezka misses with an uppercut
and Finch counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Finch winds up and cracks Pinezka with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Finch stalling. Finch is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Finch looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Finch maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pinezka could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Finch has cracked it and Pinezka is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Finch!
