The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horrible takedown by Lane or perhaps it was just good defense by Filipovic which made him look bad.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Lane counters with a head kick. That will keep Filipovic thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Lane stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Filipovic.
Filipovic tries to clinch up but Lane circles away and keeps his distance.
Lane will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lane shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lane was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Filipovic is trying to stand but he's just given Lane his back.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lane fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Filipovic sprawls well initially but Lane persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lane uses his free foot to push down on Filipovic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Filipovic.
A nice elbow there by Lane.
Filipovic has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
