Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hanamichi Sakuragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hanamichi Sakuragi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Johnson! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuragi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Johnson manages to pull guard.
Johnson wants to stand but Sakuragi is controlling the position. Sakuragi wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position. Sakuragi throwing strikes but missing. Sakuragi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sakuragi prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sakuragi tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sakuragi to the mat! Sakuragi manages to get full guard. Johnson looks winded!
Sakuragi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.
Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sakuragi has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Sakuragi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Johnson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sakuragi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sakuragi trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Johnson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sakuragi's guard. Johnson pushes down on Sakuragi's leg and manages to get into half guard. Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sakuragi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

 The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Sakuragi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Johnson is looking for a kimura but Sakuragi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sakuragi is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sakuragi after a bit of a struggle. Sakuragi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Johnson gets his way!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tony Johnson! Tony Johnson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
