Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arizona Flagstaff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Buendia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Buendia! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flagstaff looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Flagstaff is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Buendia sees it coming and defends easily. Flagstaff seems to be working for a kimura but Buendia defends the submission attempt. Buendia is in trouble now - Flagstaff has advanced to mount! Buendia can't escape the position.
Flagstaff jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Buendia is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Buendia and Flagstaff has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Flagstaff is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Buendia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ground and pound from Flagstaff seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Buendia is trying to get back to half guard. Buendia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flagstaff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Flagstaff working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Flagstaff wants to control but Buendia is keeping him busy. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Flagstaff fails to land the takedown. Buendia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Flagstaff was well out of range. Poor timing from Buendia. Flagstaff throws a right hand that Buendia ducks under and follows up with a left that Buendia also avoids with ease. Buendia clinches up against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Buendia lands a big knee to the head and Flagstaff goes down! Buendia is looking to finish!
It looks like Arizona Flagstaff has been cut. Flagstaff is breathing heavily. Flagstaff is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Flagstaff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Buendia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Flagstaff kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nice sprawl there from Buendia as Flagstaff shoots in. Flagstaff clinches but Buendia breaks the clinch and Buendia counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Buendia dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Buendia lands a nice elbow. Buendia looks to throw an elbow but misses. Buendia looking to throw knees to the head but Flagstaff is blocking nicely.

Flagstaff sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Still in half guard, Buendia seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Buendia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Arizona Flagstaff's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Flagstaff looks to clinch and Buendia counters with a lovely shot to the body. Flagstaff wants to clinch and Buendia moves into the clinch. Flagstaff tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Buendia smiles and moves away.

Buendia crunches a lovely knee into Flagstaff's ribcage. Flagstaff blocks an elbow strike. Buendia scores with a knee to the head.
Buendia jerks Flagstaff's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Flagstaff drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Buendia goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Buendia because Flagstaff was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
