Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alistair Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spong comes into the arena with 2Pac - I'm A Soldier (Echale Mojo Remix) blaring out of the sound system. Alistair Spong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald tries a low kick but Spong avoids it.
Spong lands with a nice body kick.
McDonald wants to clinch up but Spong keeps it at a distance.
McDonald misses with an uppercut. Spong saw that one coming.
McDonald moves into the clinch.
Spong has had enough of the clinch but McDonald keeps him there for the moment.
McDonald trying to control the position but instead, Spong has worked for underhooks and has pushed McDonald into the ropes.

Spong lands a right hand that snaps the head of McDonald backwards.

McDonald ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spong moves away.
McDonald misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Spong.
Alistair Spong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spong keeps McDonald at a distance using the push kick.

Spong lands with a nice combination. McDonald backs away looking to recover.
McDonald lands a head shot.
Spong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McDonald throws a looping overhand right but Spong ducks down to avoid it.
As McDonald tries to get set, Spong tries to push him back and clinch up but McDonald manages to avoid the attempt.
McDonald's coach down at Vicious Striking was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McDonald's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Spong has managed to clinch.
Spong throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but McDonald blocks it with crossed arms.
Spong wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Spong misses with a knee strike.
A nice right hand lands inside from Spong.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McDonald misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McDonald with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
McDonald scores with a shoulder strike.

Spong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Spong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDonald circles away quickly and effectively.
Spong missing with a left hand there. McDonald was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Spong feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McDonald's calf.
Nice defenses there by McDonald.

Spong's corner calls for a 1-2. Spong obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McDonald has taken the fight to the clinch.
Spong lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
McDonald pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spong looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Spong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McDonald takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Spong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McDonald.
Spong went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

McDonald backs away from a small jab... but Spong lunges forward with a huge superman punch! McDonald crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Spong with a spectacular finish!
