PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kamal Al Molok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen Real American as his entrance music. Hulk Hogan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamal Al Molok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Al Molok closes the distance and pushes Hogan back into the cage.

Al Molok's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Al Molok tries to keep at a distance but Hogan has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hogan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Al Molok backwards.

Hogan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hogan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hogan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Al Molok is one step ahead there.
Al Molok wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.

Hogan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but Al Molok is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Al Molok sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hogan's guard.
Al Molok knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hogan on the ground.
Hogan is controlling Al Molok's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Al Molok wants to control but Hogan is keeping him busy.
Hogan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hogan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but Al Molok is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hogan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Al Molok circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown but Al Molok shows good takedown defense.
Hogan looks winded!
Hogan tries to land a front kick but Al Molok steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Al Molok closes the distance and pushes Hogan back into the cage.

Al Molok gets control of Hogan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Al Molok will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hogan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Al Molok works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Molok is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Al Molok is controlling Hogan's posture.

Al Molok looking for a sweep. Not yet Al Molok, not yet.
Al Molok on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Al Molok tries to get out of the position.
Hogan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Al Molok had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hogan defends it easily.

Al Molok might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hogan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Al Molok is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hogan gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Al Molok is looking to control Hogan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Al Molok avoid being mounted?
Hogan is nestled in close to Al Molok, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Al Molok is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hogan trying to control the action but Al Molok is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hulk Hogan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hogan throws a right hand that Al Molok ducks under and follows up with a left that Al Molok also avoids with ease.
Al Molok lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hogan backs up against the cage.


It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Al Molok.
Hogan throws a combination. Al Molok tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Al Molok shoots in for a takedown but Hogan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Al Molok clinches with his opponent.
Al Molok lands a nice shot to the body.
Hogan slowing the pace effectively.

Hogan breaks from the clinch.
Hulk Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hogan stuffs the takedown attempt from Al Molok. Al Molok gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamal Al Molok. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Al Molok delivers a nice body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Al Molok takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hogan throws a strike aimed at the side of Al Molok's head but Al Molok avoids it well.
Hogan connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Al Molok some visible discomfort.
Al Molok is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hogan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Al Molok is trying to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hogan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Al Molok keeps working.

Hogan is trying to get an arm triangle but Al Molok is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I wouldn't like to be where Al Molok is right now.

Hulk Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Al Molok shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Al Molok showed some decent athleticism there.
Al Molok lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Al Molok is looking to advance position but Hogan won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan is defending against the submission attempts here by Al Molok.
Hogan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hogan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Al Molok prevents Hogan from standing back up.

Al Molok thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Al Molok shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hogan but Hogan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Al Molok closes the distance and clinches.

Al Molok pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Al Molok tries to clinch but Hogan moves out of range.
Al Molok slaps away a takedown attempt from Hogan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Al Molok looks to land a body kick but Hogan moved away.

Kamal Al Molok is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hogan clinches up with Al Molok and pushes him back against the cage.
Hogan tries to pull guard but Al Molok holds him up against the cage and eventually Hogan drops back down to his feet.

Al Molok wants the takedown. Hogan is fighting it off but Al Molok persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hogan's guard against the cage.

Hogan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Al Molok wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Al Molok shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hogan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kamal Al Molok.
I think Hogan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
