The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cadaver manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed right hand from Chavez misses the target.

Cadaver closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chavez can't do much from the bottom here.
A lull in the action here as Cadaver stalls from top position.
Chavez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cadaver is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cadaver is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chavez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Cadaver is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Cadaver extends the arm and Chavez is forced to tap!
