Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace has chosen BraveHeart as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tran. Wallace tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tran swivels and escapes. Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tran swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tran drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wallace sprawls and moves away. Tran dives in and scores a takedown into Wallace's guard. Tran passes easily into side control. Nice work. Tran working the body and head with strikes. Wallace is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tran connects with a decent elbow. Tran just content to control the position. Wallace is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Tran scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Wallace to see if he's OK. Wallace wants to control but Tran postures up. Tran scores with a couple of short elbows. He has the arm isolated but Wallace is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wallace on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Tran controls the position. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tran just content to control the position. Tran tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wallace's legs. Tran is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wallace is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wallace takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Wallace takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tran lands a few punches from side control. Tran scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Wallace to see if he's OK. Tran staying calm. Tran lands a nice forearm strike. Tran goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wallace has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tran but great work by Wallace. We've been informed that Wallace has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Tran is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wallace asserts his dominance and retains side control. Tran manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tran seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tran circles away quickly and effectively. Wallace shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tran sprawls well. Tran wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet. Tran shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wallace napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dave Tran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tran cracks Wallace with a big right hand but Wallace just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Tran controlling the pace for now. Tran raining down shots from the mount! Tran with shots to the head and body - Wallace looks very uncomfortable down there. Tran breaks from Wallace's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wallace tries to reverse the position but Tran maintains control. Tran looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Tran working away from the top, dropping strikes. Tran takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tran with shots to the head and body - Wallace looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tran putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! And that's the end of the fight! Dave Tran showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tran, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
