Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Benny Hana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Jones!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Hana swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hana eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jones ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hana fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Hana persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hana in particular looking to stall.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hana closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Hana changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hana shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hana showed some decent athleticism there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones is pressing down on Hana's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Hana pushes his legs off easily.
Hana wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
Hana is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hana stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hana wants it to stay on the feet.
Hana shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Hana shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hana's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jason Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hana takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jones throws a head kick but Hana moves out of range.
Jones digs a good body shot into Hana's ribs.
Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hana misses with a strike from the bottom.
Hana wants to control but Jones postures up.
Jones blocks the strikes from Hana.

Jones stands up and beckons Hana to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Hana shows good takedown defense.
Hana wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hana attempts a counter takedown but Jones avoids it well and moves away.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hana is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hana fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hana tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hana has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Jason Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones feints a jab promting Hana to slip. Jones then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hana slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hana throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Hana finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hana stops Jones from standing up.
Jones controls Hana momentarily but Hana frees himself.

Jones is pressed up against the cage. Hana has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hana tries to counter by clinching up but Jones breaks away and moves out of range.
Benny Hana is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hana momentarily.
Hana avoids the head kick by Jones.
Hana shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Hana keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Hana takes the fight into the clinch.
Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jones is trying to maintain a safe position but Hana gets an underhook and turns Jones into the cage.
Hana blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Hana gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hana wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hana scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.
