Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bart Paw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tj Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bart Paw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tj Mack!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paw gets a clinch.
Mack has had enough of the clinch but Paw keeps him there for the moment.

Paw manages to pull guard.
Paw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mack stands up and waves to Paw to follow him.

Mack drives through and clinches with Paw against the cage.
Mack missing with knees to the body.

Mack manages to pull guard.
Mack throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Mack trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paw sitting in guard here, content to control.
Paw wants to control from the top but Mack keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mack is looking to stand up but Paw isn't so interested in that idea.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Mack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Paw is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Paw controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Paw closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mack's guard.

Mack avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mack trying to keep a closed guard but Paw is proving a slippery customer.
Paw has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Paw distracts Mack with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Paw decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mack shoots and misses

and Paw counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Paw.

Paw wants the takedown. Mack is fighting it off but Paw persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mack's guard against the cage.

Paw stays in close to Mack's body and controls the position.

Paw stands and steps away. Mack gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mack shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paw pinned against the cage. Paw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mack misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mack looks winded!

Paw darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Paw slows the pace down in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Paw wants to stand up but Mack is controlling the position.
Paw controlling the pace.
Mack is looking for a sweep. Paw is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Paw with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mack makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mack.
Paw pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mack is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mack looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Paw is fending him off so far but Mack persists. Nope, Paw circles away and we're back to standing.
Paw slaps away a takedown attempt from Mack, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Paw shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paw showed some decent athleticism there.

Mack manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Paw keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Paw is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mack can't fight it off and eventually Paw manages to take the fight to the floor. Mack looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Paw stands and steps away. Mack gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Paw fails to land the takedown.

Paw shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mack napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mack manages to get back to half guard.
Mack is breathing heavily.
Paw is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Paw controlling the pace.
Bart Paw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Paw wants to free his trapped foot but Mack is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Paw is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Paw is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Paw lands with a punch from half guard.

Paw is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paw is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Paw frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Paw landing strikes, looking to finish!

Paw is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mack has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mack!

Paw seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Mack throwing strikes but missing.
Mack won't allow Paw to sweep him here.
Paw is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Paw has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mack is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Paw.
Paw is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bart Paw will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Mack shoots in for a double leg but Paw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mack cracks Paw with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mack shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Paw defends it nicely.
Paw scores with a kick to the body.

Paw takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mack is pressed up against the cage. Paw has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mack down to the mat. Mack avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Paw fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Paw closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mack quickly recovers to half guard.

Mack is trying to control but can't.
Paw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mack keeps working.
Mack is looking to improve his position.
Paw is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Mack trying to control but Paw postures up.
Mack takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Paw in particular looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Paw's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Paw is looking for a kimura here.
Mack trying to hold on to Paw's head to control him but Paw postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paw feints and then cracks Mack's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mack down.
Mack dives in for a single leg takedown but Paw sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bart Paw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tj Mack.

Paw looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mack!

Mack explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Paw closes the distance and clinches.

Paw has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mack uses from the top position.

Paw has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Paw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mack defends well.
Mack wants to pass the guard but Paw is keeping the position.
Tj Mack has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bart Paw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Paw is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Well Paw has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
