Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vern Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vern Marquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Evans! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marquez doesn't manage to clinch there - Evans circles away.
Evans stuffs the takedown. Vern Marquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marquez shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Marquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Marquez moves into the clinch. Marquez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Marquez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Marquez being controlled here, momentarily. Marquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Marquez wants to improve his position but instead Evans has moved into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marquez has hold of Evans's hands but Evans slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Evans is nestled in close to Marquez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Evans is thwarting Marquez's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marquez is looking to escape. Marquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evans on the ground. Evans is pressing down on Marquez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Marquez is holding on for now. Evans is figuring out what he wants to do next. Evans has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Evans controlling his opponent. Marquez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Evans avoids the attempt from Marquez to control. Evans tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The referee warns Marquez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Evans takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Evans is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Marquez defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marquez trying to control the hands but Evans breaks the grip. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Marquez trying to control but not successfully. Evans is working for a rear naked choke. Marquez is not defending it well and Evans has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Marquez refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Marquez's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
