Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Larry Longo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Uray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry Longo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larry Longo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andres Uray!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longo gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Longo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Uray connects with a right hand. Longo shakes it off.
Longo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Andres Uray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uray lands with a hook. Longo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Uray misses with the combination.

Longo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Uray looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Longo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Longo controls the position from side control.
Uray takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Longo misses with the ground and pound.

You can see the frustration on Uray's face as Longo controls the position.
Uray takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Uray wants to get back to his feet.

Longo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Longo with the ground and pound but Uray regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Longo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Uray with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Longo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Uray doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Longo.

Longo is working for a kimura but Uray is defending it quite comfortably.

Longo is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Longo is controlling the pace.
Longo working the head and body with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Longo is looking for submissions but instead, Uray has regained full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Uray keeping full guard, as Longo tries to pass.
Longo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Longo with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Longo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Larry Longo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Longo tries to clinch but Uray is having none of it.

Uray gets caught napping as Longo dives in and scores a takedown. Uray manages to retain guard.
Longo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Uray avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Longo.

Longo is working for a submission of some sort.
Longo looks to land a strike but Uray avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Longo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longo scoring with punches to the head and body.
Longo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Longo postures up and lands a big shot to Uray's brow.

Longo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Uray pushes Longo off and scrambles back to his feet.
Uray throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Uray connects with a single shot there.

Longo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Longo is trying to pull guard but Uray turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Longo misses with a knee to the head.

Longo breaks the clinch.
Uray scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Longo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Uray avoids it really well and circles away.
Andres Uray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Uray clobbers Longo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Longo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Longo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Longo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Uray is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Longo with a flurry of punches that miss.
Longo scoring with some ground and pound.
Longo throws a strike but Uray rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Uray wants to stand but Longo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Longo looking for a guillotine here but Uray defends easily.
Longo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Uray wants to stand but Longo is controlling his posture from full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Longo pulls Uray in close to prevent any damage.

Longo is looking for a triangle but Uray pushes his legs off easily.
Longo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Andres Uray will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Longo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

A jab lands there for Uray.
Uray lands a lovely overhand right.

Longo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Longo stands up over Uray, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Longo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Uray keeping moving, preventing Longo from controlling successfully.
Uray can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Longo controls the pace.

Longo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uray swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Longo is working Uray over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Longo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Longo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Longo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Uray can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Longo controls the pace.
Longo is working Uray over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Longo won't allow Uray to get back to his feet.
Uray can't keep his opponent in guard - Longo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Uray takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Longo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Longo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Longo slips a nice elbow through Uray's hands, connecting with Uray's forehead.
Longo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Longo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Longo is working for a submission of some sort.
Uray is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Longo slows the pace down in half guard.

Longo wants to work for an arm triangle but Uray is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Uray regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Longo.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Longo tries to free his leg and advance position but Uray is retaining full guard.
Longo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Larry Longo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Longo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
