Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Kopp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kopp comes into the arena with Fivefold – Step Back blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kopp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rivera can't do much from the bottom here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kopp is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kopp is working for a kimura but Rivera is defending it quite comfortably.

Kopp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rivera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kopp.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rivera trying to hold on to Kopp's head to control him but Kopp postures up.
Rivera is trying to get back to full guard.

Rivera tries to roll over but Kopp keeps him under control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kopp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rivera knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rivera is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kopp has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rivera is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kopp yanks on the arm and Rivera is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kopp.
